The CTSFW annual Symposia Series includes a service of Evening Prayer with music led by the seminary Kantorei on Tuesday, January 21, at 5:00 p.m. The Kantorei is an auditioned choir of seventeen students at CTSFW studying for the pastoral ministry, under the direction of Kantor Kevin Hildebrand. The service begins with the choir’s signature hymn setting for the Epiphany season, “Of the Father’s Love Begotten,” in an arrangement by the choir’s founder, Kantor Richard Resch.
The organist and accompanist is Kantor Matthew Machemer, associate kantor at CTSFW. The service will be livestreamed for those who cannot join in person.
This event is free and open to the public. Please note that you do not need to be registered for the Symposia conference to attend the Evening Prayer service.
Technically made up of two symposia, one on exegetical theology and the other on the Lutheran Confessions, the annual Symposia Series features guest speakers and faculty from CTSFW and other theological institutions who lecture on topics related to the theme for each annual symposium.
A special Choral Vespers will be held Thursday evening, January 23, during our annual Symposia Series.
Symposia Week includes Vespers and an organ recital in Kramer Chapel Wednesday, January 22.
