Journey through the landscapes and landmarks of ancient Egypt on the Egypt & the Great Nile Cruise, an 11-day tour Nov. 14–24, 2026, beginning with an overnight departure from Chicago and an arrival in Cairo. From the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx at Giza to the Grand Egyptian Museum’s remarkable archaeological collections, the program provides a strong foundation for sustained engagement with Egypt’s dynastic, religious, and artistic legacy.
The itinerary then extends into Old Kingdom Memphis and Sakkara—home to the Step Pyramid of Zoser—before turning to Cairo’s historic Citadel and celebrated mosques. Traveling south to Luxor, guests embark on a Nile cruise featuring comprehensive visits to Karnak and Luxor Temples, the Valley of the Kings (including the Tomb of Ramses IV), and the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, then continue onward to Edfu and Kom Ombo to study two of Egypt’s most renowned temple complexes.
The journey concludes in Aswan with the High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk, Philae, and a felucca sailboat ride on the Nile, offering a fitting finale to an excursion shaped by both historical insight and cultural immersion.
